- Fasano (Brindisi)
[Minimum stay: 4 nights]
Along a sheep-track bordered by dry-stone walls, hidden among the silver foliage of centuries-old olive trees, three parallelepiped buildings rise up: the "towers" - as the lamie are called in this countryside - are old service shelters for farmers, masterfully restored and transformed into a design villa that can accommodate up to six people.
Immersed in the Fasano countryside (in the hamlet of Speziale), just 4 km from the sea, Torretta Macramè comprises a historic lamia and two adjoining cottages. Inside: three bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen and living room. Outside: patio with garden and barbecue area, private swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests, technical room and laundry room.
The interiors of the dwellings, designed in collaboration with Spezyale Design Atelier, enhance the materials, themes and colours of the surrounding landscape, through an encounter with the contemporary.
The white lime walls and polished micro-cement flooring prevail throughout the home.
Outside, the colours of the plaster come from the earth: oxide red, the greens of the olive tree leaves, the browns of the carob tree trunks.
The house is accessed through a double entrance, both from the front and the back of the lamia, which includes the kitchen and the living room, both with star vaults.
The kitchen is positioned along the wall and includes an electric hob, refrigerator, electric oven and microwave oven, crockery and cutlery and a coffee moke.
In the centre of the kitchen area, on the original local stone floor, is the dining/breakfast table which can seat up to 6 guests.
The living room, furnished with refined elements, includes a sofa, armchair and television as well as a staircase leading to the terrace.
There are three bedrooms: two share a bathroom and one has an attached private bathroom. The rooms are all very bright and three have a double bed with a masonry structure. In the rooms the use of macramé prevails. The print with iconic subjects of the area, used to cover furnishings recovered from the farms, alleys and ruins, embellishes the white lime of the interior walls and vaults by contrast.
The shared bathroom of the two bedrooms is equipped with a washbasin with mirror, toilet, bidet and an outdoor shower. The en suite bathroom has a washbasin with mirror, toilet, bidet and shower. In the bathroom there is a French window, which gives access to the beautiful outdoor stone shower.
Outside, at the back of the villa, there is a large relaxation area with semi-circular sofas, carved out of stone, which is the perfect corner in which to enjoy the beautiful views of Puglia.
Not far away, there is a large round stone table where you can prepare and enjoy excellent grills in the company of friends, thanks to the large barbecue located not far away.
Surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, the swimming pool with solarium is the ideal place to relax and cool down during the hottest summer days.
